Last Monday the City Year Chicago Corps Council and staff pulled out all the stops to show how thankful they are for the hard work and dedication of our corps members. A fall feast was in order! Corps members were treated to plate after plate of salad, lasagna, chicken Parmesan, ravioli, pasta, and wings — all of which was served up by CYCHI program managers and staff. The occasion was BYOD – bring your own dessert, and there was certainly enough sweets to go around.

The Corps Council transformed our Beloved Community space into cornucopia of fall — complete with a tree of thanks on which corps members could post appreciations, and a slide show highlighting pictures the teacher appreciation events hosted by our school teams. The month’s FAB FIVE, five corps members or senior corps members who are nominated by their peers for going above and beyond their service, were announced as part of the evening’s festivities.
