I am inspired to serve with City Year because of all the great things that come from the community I live in.

Battle Creek, Michigan has opened doors to young students who strive to create a positive change in their education and way of life. Seeing this has made me aware of the fact that  in order to create change in the community, we all must step back and look at the kids that will be following in the steps we take today.

People like those in my photo make sure that we have made a clear path for the young people who are to come into this world to start their own positive change in the community–something we have in common with City Year.
