With just two short weeks until the Corps Members begin their first day in the classroom things are pretty hectic around here. Our corps members are preparing for an average day of 7:15a.m.-5:30p.m.(varies from school to school) and to successfully do that everyday, they’ve got a lot to learn.
Our corps members are going through rigorous training Monday-Friday that will help to ensure that they’ll be prepared to successfully serve as tutors and mentors. All between the ages of 17-24, our corps includes graduates from The University Of Miami to Indiana University to Washington University in St. Louis all coming together for a cause greater than themselves.
On Friday, September 7th, City Year Chicago will host their Opening Day, whereby we will launch a Corps of 188 corps members. If you’re in the Chicago area, be sure to stop by Wrigley Square in Millennium Park (at Michigan and Randolph) at 4p.m.
